Updating a Janus CDMA864CF Cell Module
Recently had to update a Janus CDMA864CF Cell Module and wanted to record the steps so next time I don't have to figure it out. First, we used the Janus Plugin Evaluation Board which can be find in the online store. Next you need the USB drivers to connect this board to your windows machine (I was running a virtual windows XP) which can be found here under downloads. When the driver is installed, plug in your CDMA864CF to the evaluation board and then power up with 5 V supply. Then connect your USB cable between the evaluation board and computer. Now you need to contact Janus to have them send you the update tool (I was updating from 09.01.024 to 09.01.025). Just launch the executable and it should automatically find the correct COM port. Then hit Download and let it run. It took many attempts to get the update tool to work. I would disconnect power and remove the USB from the evaluation board and then reconnect and then try again. I also restarted windows several time. Eventually it download and makes it all the way through the process (which took almost 7 minutes). I then used the AT+CGMR command to make sure it updated the firmware.
